About Us

Georgetown Legacy Church (GLC) has seen some powerful opportunities for God to show himself faithful and strong. On February 12, 2012, after finalizing our status as a church and obtaining a lease agreement with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, the congregation began meeting for the first time. Roughly a year later the founding Pastors, Robert & April Jones felt the call back home to California.

The next chapter in Legacy's history started in March 2013 with the arrival of Pastor Terry & Margie Slack. A completely new team was assembled with the exception of our Associate Pastors Jim & Melanie Forester, who have proven to be vital in this transition of leadership. As this is being written, Legacy Church is counting down the days to our new launch service on September 29, 2013. We are currently holding pre-launch services every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

As a church for all people having a heart for missions, we seek to be a blessing and promoter of the gospel of Christ in the Georgetown Community and surrounding areas. We will do this by:
  • Reaching out to our community with events that serve its people.
  • Combining our efforts with the city when special events occur.
  • Supporting & Serving other ministries in the community.
  • Also, reach the surrounding communities of Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander & North Austin with small group ministries.
  • Missions to the world.
Our mission at Legacy Church is to reach families, singles young and old in the Georgetown area with the love of Christ. Providing great worship opportunities which promote the living, breathing word of God, which literally transforms our attitudes, behaviours and conduct for the glory of God and the good of all people.

What we value:
  • Life Change happens when we truly encounter God through the power of Jesus Christ.  Rom. 8:9-11
  • Life Change continues when we are filled with the Holy Spirit consistently.       Eph. 5:18
  • Gods giftings & talents to us are secondary to His favor and smile on our lives.   Ps. 44:3
  • Walking in humility, kindness and patience; making allowance for each others faults and forgiving others as Christ has forgiven us. Col. 3:12-13
  • Leaders who are servants, equipping the saints for the work of ministry.          Eph. 4:12
  • These saints in turn 'GO' and equip others through sharing the love of Christ in the natural rhythm of life, making disciples who make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Matt. 29:19
  • Finally, as a body and individually we seek with determined purpose to know Christ, deeply and intimately. Phil. 3:10
